My Wedding Cake

I recently got married and took the opportunity to make my own wedding cake! Yes, some may say I was crazy, but I really wanted to do it myself. It was a 4 tier fruit cake covered in ivory fondant with brush embroidery and sugar paste tropical flowers. It was my biggest challenge yet and I'm really happy with the finished cake....it tasted good too!!

More roses, orchids and Calla lillies cascading down the corners of the cake

I scattered edible crystals around the cake to give it a little bling!
Hippo Cake

What do you make for a 30th Birthday for a lady who loves Hippos? A Hippo Cake! And better yet, a Hippo sun bathing on the beach! This was a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and fondant decoration.

Curious George Cake

My nephew is a fan of Curious George and I was asked to make a quick 2nd birthday cake for him. It was a simple lemon sponge for a small gathering of family. He insisted on blowing out his candles twice and took great pleasure in eating the edible glitter covered fondant balloons!

Disney Castle Cake

I was asked to make a Disney Castle birthday cake for a 3 year old girl. I had a look at the various cartoons and decided on a pink castle with white turrets. I bought the figurines so she would be able to play with them after the cake had been eaten and decorated the turrets with piped ivy and flowers.

Christmas Mini-Cake fun!

A few days before Christmas, my Mum asked me to make some mini cakes for dessert on Christmas day. We has 22 guests for Christmas lunch, so I tried to make each cake individually festive! The cakes themselves were lemon sponge and all the decoration was made out of fondant and gum paste.

Arsenal Cake

I had to make a quick birthday cake for an avid Arsenal fan. It's the first time I've piped grass! It took ages, but was definitely worth the effort!

Finding Nemo Cake

This was my favoutite cake to make. It was for a baby shower and I really wanted to make a fish themed cake. I was inspired by cake which were submitted at the Cake International show and on the internet. The base is marbled fondant and both tiers are carrot cake also covered in fondant.

X Box Cake

I was asked to create an X Box birthday cake for a 13 year old boy. It was a challenge to make the controller but I was determined to make it out of cake. The birthday boy took pictures during his party actually holding the cake controller as if he was playing a game!

The buttons were fun to do

He is a fan of "Call of Duty", hence the CD design

Halloween Cake

One of my other God-daughters (I now have 5 by the way!) had a Halloween party and I made this cake for the occassion. It was great fun modelling the cartoon-like characters for the decoration. The cake itself was a Victoria sponge with fresh raspberries. Apparently it went down a treat!

Each ghost has a diferrent character!
